Teo Saefkow is a queer Singer-songwriter/producer based in Vancouver. They strive to highlight the hypocrisy and broken systems in our society by blending poignant, timely lyrics with the northern BC folk festival sounds of their childhood. Since the inception of their solo project in 2019, Teo Saefkow (formerly known as Scalawag) has self produced two full-length albums. Their sound has been described as a mix between the brooding lyricism of a crooning Hozier, and the quiet confessional-folk style of Leith Ross. Originally hailing from an artistic household in Northern BC, Teo Saefkow’s journey in music began when they received their first guitar at the age of seven.More recently, Teo Saefkow released their sophomore album ‘Sehnsucht’ under the name Scalawag in June, 2023:
